The University of Arkansas Rome Center offers a multi-disciplinary learning environment. Several partner universities particpate in the academic activities in a collaborative mode. Programs offered include Art-Art History, Architecture-Landscape Architecture-Interior Design, Humanities, Fashion Design-Fashion Merchandising, Italian Language.
 

Regional field trips are offered as part of the curriculum (see section: Tours and Sites Visits) and the final destinations meet the specific course agenda and requirements. Optional field trips are offered as well to some selected Italian destinationswhich are led by UARC faculty.

 

Lectures and events are regularly organized in order to expose students to the local academic and cultural environment. 

Workshops in architecture and fashion are organized with Italian, European and US Academic Institutions in order to encourage cultural exchange and exposure to diversity. Hands-on didactic experiences such as visits to restoration sites, community outreach, and students' shows and exhibtions are also offered as part of the academic activities of the UARC.

 

The UARC operates during the regular fall and spring semesters of each academic year and hosts summer programs from May till the end of July. The UARC has design studios, classrooms/AV rooms, libraries, faculty and staff offices as well as computer labs. The computer labs operate on a Windows network with PCs and a wireless system where personal laptops can be connected. The library rooms are also equipped with wireless network. An internet connection through an HDSL line offers access to the web.
